Organic Pond Flocculant

Description

Keep your pond clear and your fish healthy with Eutrema’s Organic Pond Flocculant.

Contains 5% Chitosan – a natural polymer with positive charged ions (cations) that attracts algae to form clumps, and prevents their spread. 

Eutrema are the experts in manufacturing chitosan solutions. Our product is a viscous liquid, which is a sign that it is a super-concentrate. Beware of products that are weak (runny/watery). A highly concentrated chitosan solution should also be brown but transparent.

Chitosan is routinely used in wine making and brewing to remove yeast from cloudy wine and beer. This is why it works so well in ponds in removing other single-celled microbes (algae) in a way that is safe for fish and other pond-dwelling animals.

Application

• Add 1 litre of the concentrate to 9 litre of water in a bucket.
• Mix until dissolved.
• Pour into the pond at a point where it will disperse quickly into the algal bloom.
• For best results remove flocculated algae to prevent its decomposition impacting the oxygen levels in the water.
• One 5 litre bottle is sufficient to treat one large domestic pond two times a year. Larger bottles can be supplied if required.
