This fertiliser contain only soluble sulphur and nitrogen, making it perfect when you want to add sulphur, but not upset the balance of other nutrients in the growing medium.
Alternatives such as powdered sulphur or sulphur chips are not soluble and so take weeks/months to deliver sulphur to plant roots.
Dilute with water before use. Check recommendations for your crop (usually around 10-50 mL of product per litre of tap water).
Sulphur is a ‘macronutrient’ and so plants need good levels in the soil for optimal growth. That is why feeding plants with a sulphur fertiliser quickly results in faster growth.
Sulphur is needed for plants to synthesise proteins and chlorophyll pigments. This is why the young leaves of plants that are deficient in sulphur go yellow (pictured).
Sulphur deficiencies in plants are now increasingly common. This is because (thankfully) our air quality is now a lot better than it was decades ago. As such, far less sulphur is being deposited in our soisl.
