Description
CONCENTRATED SILICON FOR STRONGER CROPS
Silicon is one of the most abundant chemical elements in any soil, but the vast majority is locked up and not available to plants.
Many crop plants need a high level of available silicon to maximise the physical strength of cell walls. This is especially true of all cereal crops. Silicon deposited into cell walls and cellular ‘phytoliths’ make crops significantly more resilient to attack by pests and pathogens.
The addition of Potassium Silicate to crops has a positive effect on crop growth, health and final
yield. Potassium Silicate breaks down to form mono-silicic acid; a plant-available compound when diluted in water. Mono-silicic acid is absorbed into plant tissues by both roots and foliage.
APPLICATION PROTOCOLS
Apply 1-2 litres per hectare in 200-400L of water. Contact Eutrema for dose rates for irrigation or non- field crops.
Applications can continue into autumn where the addition of Potassium Silicate helps with hardening the crop ready for winter.
Once diluted use immediately. Diluted product can gel up or fall out of solution if stored for long periods.
Note; Potassium Silicate is alkaline and will raise the pH of the water it is added to. Citric acid can be used to lower pH where necessary.
Always conduct a bucket test to confirm compatibility with other co-applied chemicals. Potassium Silicate can be difficult to tank mix and we cannot predict or guarantee mixing success with other products.
Nutrient content (w/v) Silicon 14.8% (30.4% as silica) Potassium 11.4% (as K2O)
